The academic programs at Sadler are the pathway for reaching academic success for "all" learners "all" of the time. We use the county adopted programs in conjunction with additional intervention resources in all subject areas.

Our reading curriculum follows the Task Analyses for the Sunshine State Standards (K-2) and (3-5) and uses Voyager (K-1) and Houghton Mifflin (2-5) as a resource for instruction. The students also visit the computer lab, to practice their reading skills on the Successmaker Program and FCAT Explorer.

We continue to soar in math! The Task Analyses for the Sunshine State Standards (K-2) (3-5) drive the objectives and goals for math instruction. Everyday Math has been welcomed into all grade levels. This OCPS adopted program focuses on cyclical instruction delivered through the use of manipulatives and games. Additionally, Sadler works with Dr. Large to assist our 3-5 students progress in the area of math. Dr. Large's instruction focuses on hands-on, real-world applications for math concepts and incorporates music into student learning experiences. The Math Lab incorporates the Everyday Math games and activities and Dr. Large strategies into all lessons.

Sadler will be implementing the use of the Scott Forsman program for both Social Studies and Science this year. We look forward to the hands-on experiences and real use of literature that both programs offer. Our Special Area Science Lab provides additional opportunities for Sadler students to receive hands-on science experiences that correlate with the CIA & Task Analyses. At the end of the year, the Science Lab and the 5th grade work together to coordinate a Science Fair. All students in the school are able to visit the fair and prepare their minds for their futures in Science Education.
Our writing program is delivered through a variety of resources and structures. We use The Write Track and Write from the Beginning programs as our core curriculum.. Our students visit a Writing Lab as part of their Special Area schedule. The Writing Lab uses technology to enhance the delivery of writing instruction. All students, K-5, practice formal writing experiences on a monthly basis and are graded on a school adopted rubric. We look forward to the continued growth in the area of writing for "all" of our Sadler Mustangs!
